Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Oberndorf is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of The Axton Group.
He serves as a member of the Investment Committee and oversees identification, evaluation, and consummation of real estate strategies and investments. Prior to forming Axton in 2017, Mr. Oberndorf led the Real Estate division of Oberndorf Enterprises, LLC, worked for Strategic Hotels and Resorts where he had responsibilities in corporate finance and portfolio management and Colony Capital, LLC where he had responsibilities in acquisitions and asset management. Mr. Oberndorf currently serves on The Alumni Council of The Thacher School, as member of the buildings and grounds committee for Cathedral School for Boys, and is a class agent responsible for leadership gifts at Williams College. Mr. Oberndorf received a B.A. in Political Economy and Leadership Studies in 2008 from Williams College and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business in 2017.
Mr. Slusser is responsible for investments, acquisitions and overall investment strategy at The Axton Group.
He serves as a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Axton in 2018, Mr. Slusser was responsible for directing US Financials and REIT investments, at Orbis Investment Management, worked at PIMCO and Morgan Stanley, where he specialized in their emerging-markets fixed-income groups, primarily in credit, currencies and local rates and at Barclays Capital, in inflation-linked and rates sales and trading. Mr. Slusser received a BSc in Economics and Economic History in 2010 with First Class Honours, from The London School of Economics and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business in 2017.
Director of Finance
Ms. Wong is responsible for finance, accounting, investor reporting and operations at The Axton Group.
Prior to joining Axton in 2019, Ms. Wong was a vice president in the Fund Management group at Shorenstein, where her responsibilities included investor reporting, portfolio management, and fundraising. Prior to Shorenstein, Liane held finance positions at Gap, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard, and was a senior auditor at Coopers & Lybrand. Ms. Wong is a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive). Ms. Wong received a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley.
